Frederick Training Center is excited to partner with FC Frederick to launch the NEW Academy I Futsal Program for Winter 2027! Open to FC Frederick's Academy I U7 and U8 players, the program combines one weekly practice on FTC's indoor turf with games on Saturdays.
Futsal is the FIFA-recognized form of small-sided indoor soccer, played 5 v 5 (four field players and a goalkeeper) with a smaller, heavier, low-bounce ball. Games are fast, every player is involved, and players get far more touches than in the outdoor game—which is why so many of the world's best players credit futsal for their technique. Led by Academy I Director Coach Jackie Eskay
The Academy I Futsal Program is overseen by Coach Jackie Eskay, Director of FC Frederick's Academy I Program. Jackie will guide the futsal program's curriculum, coaching, and player experience from the first practice to the final Saturday game—so Academy I families get the same leadership, standards, and familiar faces they know from the fall season.
Jackie joined FC Frederick's coaching staff in 2003 and has served as the club's Academy Director since 2016. Over more than two decades with the club, she has coached FC Frederick players from U5 through U12 and served as Head Age Group Coach for the U6–U12 programs. She also serves on the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors and the United Soccer Coaches Foundation Committee, and in 2020 she was inducted into the Frederick County Soccer Hall of Fame.
Futsal is close to Jackie's heart. All five Eskay children (Tori, Jackson, William, JohnA and Isabelle) came up through FC Frederick, played soccer collegiately, and grew up playing futsal—and her son William is in the US Futsal National Team pool. Jackie is also a regular at FTC's 7:00am class, so she knows the facility, the staff, and the training environment inside and out.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT REGISTERING IN FITDEGREE: FTC uses fitDEGREE for all registrations (app store and website), and each person—parent or child—must have their own account with a unique email. When registering for a youth program, be sure to create the account using your child's name and birthdate, not your own, as many classes are age-restricted and the system will otherwise treat the registration as an adult enrollment. If you already have an adult fitDEGREE account, simply create a second account for your child using a different email. If you accidentally begin registering under your own name, tap the back arrow, return to the account creation screen, and re-enter the information using your child's details. |
